Here We Are
One fateful moment in space
The sonic wave caught a common thread
Two tired travelers, grateful to discover
In a like-minded other
The desired understanding embrace
Rich as the earth in girth and length
Helping hands to shed old clothes
Worn by cracks in our hibernating souls
Weaknesses we knew as dread
Mother's milk to hungry buzzards
Gulping the honey from our hems
Moments of mourning the past
For us, and for them
Decades lost we won't recover
Cosmic ponderings head-to-head
Feral passions spawning music
From our separate beds
At last,
Destiny guides the planets into place
As we break through and rise
Hand in hand
And strength on strength
